On 27/11/09 I purchased 60,600 ELD shares @ 16.5 cents, value $9,999 + $24.95 brokerage, totaling 10,023.95. On 30/12/09 I did a Asset Consolidation of 1 for 10. ie on the Consolidation screen I put 1:0.1 This correctly reduced the quantity to 6,060, thereby making the purchase cost per unit now $1.65.On the Change In Market Value Report, the Start shows Number Of Units 6060, value 100,239.50. End Value shows $2,363.40, based on the 30/6/10 end price of $0.39. This implies that the purchase cost per unit is now $16.50, and the brokerage is also 10 times the original. For some reason the start value is 10 times what it should be, therefore showing a huge loss for the year, but the number of units is correct, How do I get the start value to show $10,023.95.

Hello,
We have just tested this using the Sample Fund and can confirm that this is indeed a bug in the software.
The issue is raised only in the Change in Market Value report and does not effect any other part of the software.
We will have a fix for this implemented in the next software update. At this time we do not have any ETA on a release date.
Thank you for alerting us to this issue.
Regards,
MySF

| I need to do a consolidation on a 1 for 700 basis. This should modify my holding from 3000 shares to 4. However, whilst I can enter the correct fraction 0.0013333333 and the screen looks like it will consolidate to 4 shares, when I go to process, MySF curtails the fraction to 0.0014 and wants to create 3.9 shares. Please advise how to proceed.

Hello,
From what you've said in your post you are trying to achieve a result of exactly 4 shares from a total of 3000 having received 1 for every 700. If that's the case then you should have received 4.29 shares in total. Every screen must have a limit to the number of decimal places it can hold otherwise the sizes of the data files would become obscenely large and you are trying to enter a total of 10 decimal places to force the screen to allocate 4 shares in total which is not possible.
However, there is a work around. You can perform a scrip for scrip rollover via Asset Utilities > Scrip for Scrip Rollover. This screen allows you to either specify the ratio swap or the number of units received. If there is no name change for the asset you are trying to consolidate, simply enter the same code into the new code fields on the screen.
Please let us know how you go or if you require any additional assistance.
Regards,
MySF

| yes, that worked. The conslidation rounded down the number of shares received, which is probably something that is fairly common.
