| I can't print from MYSF. I open a report and hit the print button, but nothing happens. I can save the file to .pdf format and then print it, but this is cumbersome. Anyone else seen this problem? My system is Windows VIsta 64-bit. Thanks,

Hello,
I have just tested the print button and it works fine on several computers here. Considering you are running Vista, please perform the following steps to ensure you are running MySF as an administrator.
1. Right-click the MySF Manager icon on your Windows desktop and click 'Properties'.
2. Click the 'Compatibility' tab at the top of the properties window.
3. You should see a tick-box at the with 'Run as an administrator' or something similar. Please place a tick in that box.
4. Click 'Apply' and then 'Ok'.
Try clicking the 'Print' button again in the reports and let us know how you go. Could you also try running a report and printing one off in the Sample Fund?
Regards,
MySF

| I had the "run as administrator" option enabled. To check, I disabled it and tried to run MYSF. This resulted in a licensing error. I then enabled it again. I still have the printing problem. It's exactly the same in the Sample Fund or my own fund - nothing happens when I hit the print button Since there is version 7.0.5 available I will upgrade. Maybe the re-install will fix a problem. Are there any crystal reports options that I should set? Any other ideas?

| I've applied the 7.0.5 update and I still have the problem (faint hope anyway I guess).

Hello,
Are you running the 32-bit version of Windows or the 64-bit version. You can check by right-clicking the 'Computer' icon on your desktop and going to 'Properties'. On the screen that pops up there is a section on your system information and next to system type it will say either '32-bit operating system' or '64-bit operating system'.
Depending on the version of Windows you are running, please click the appropriate link below to download Crystal Reports.
32-bit version:
www.mysf.com.au/downloads/CRRedist2005_x86.msi
64-bit version:
www.mysf.com.au/downloads/CRRedist2005_x64.msi
Once it has finished downloading, please run the file to re-install Crystal Reports.
Hopefully that will fix the problem. Please let us know how you go.
Best Regards,
MySF

I have a 64-bit system. I re-installed Crystal from the link as you advised. However, it hasn't made any difference - Nothing happens when I press the print button on any report.
Is there a log file or error file somewhere that may shed light on the problem?

Hello,
I think this is a bug in Crystal Reports 64-bit report viewer. If you run reports in the 32-bit version of Windows, it works fine. I am having the same problem using a 64-bit machine.
I will investigate this further and see what I can find. I will post anything I find as a reply to this thread.
Regards,
MySF

| Has there been any further developments to this post. I have recently commenced subscribing to MySF and have experienced the same problems. I can now open the document for printing but cannot get to "print" button to work.

Hello,
This has been confirmed as a Crystal Reports issue and unfortunately there is not much we can do to fix it as Crystal Reports is a third party reporting module. It only affects 64-bit Windows operating systems.
We are investigating whether a newer release of Crystal Reports will fix the issue and if it is compatible with MySF Manager. If our tests go well, we will post a link for everyone to download and install the new version of Crystal Reports in the main menu's side panel within MySF Manager.
For the time being, you will need to export your reports to something else, such as PDF and then print from there. The Export button is next to the Print button in the report viewer.
We apologise for the inconvenience of this.
Regards,
MySF

| Hello I have the same problem with printing reports (ie 64 bit Windows 7). The solution you propose to export reports as a PDF then print from PDF is OK for most reports. However there seems to be a problem exporting balance sheets. Every other report can be exported, but when I try to export a balance sheet, MYSF freezes with "Program Not Responding". Not having access to a hard copy balance sheet is not very convenient. Regards Ron
