Hi,
What features does this update introduce and/or what issues does it resolve.
In particular, will this update resolve any of the problems I am still having relating to MySF trying to split the transaction I need to re-post (covered in my other post).

Hi,
The change to MySF Manager includes enhancements to the menu system and small modifications requested since the previous update. It also includes some bug fixes.
The split of transactions has not changed and will not be changed in the near future. This is because in most cases it is required for accurate yield reporting and a list of asset related transactions can be obtained in other ways. (more details will be provided shortly in answer to your other post)
Regards,
MySF

Hi
Thanks for the info and, with regard to my specific problem, I look forward to your more detailed reply to my other post.
I wasn't expecting transaction splitting to be done away with - I can see how it would be required for accurate yield reporting when for example one income payment covers several asset parcels.
Equally though, if the purpose is accurate yield reporting, MySF needs to know when & how to split transactions - which will not always be determined by the packages held at the time of payment. Two common examples come to mind:
1) Shares are held in a company and more are bought just after it goes ex-dividend. when the dividend is received it needs to be split between all parcels held at the record date, not all the parcels held at the payment date - which will include the recently bought ex-div shares.
2) A partial holding of shares are sold just after they go ex-dividend. By the time the payment is received only a fraction of the shares that generated the dividend are still held. The dividend SHOULD be split between the existing and sold parcels.
Since the MySF dividend input only includes the payment date & not the ex & record dates, I am guessing that there is no way for MySF to automatically choose the correct split.
I can see that doing the split automatically makes life easier for the majority of transactions - rather than requiring users nominate the specific asset parcels to be used. However, I would have thought that there were enough situations where the default split is not appropriate to maybe offer an option button which allows the user to choose the parcel(s) to be used for the split.
It occurs to me that this is not really the appropriate thread to discuss this in length - so I'll leave it at that and go back to my other thread for anything further.
