MY accountant wanted me to use BGL but it was too complex for our taste. Went for MySF but need a report similar to BGL to show "Detailed Purchase & Disposal Report.
This report provides a history of each Asset transaction with Purchase, Sale, Capital Return & Tax Deferred adjustments to the Asset Cost Base.
This makes his audit a lot simpler I understand.
As a new user I may have missed something but if I go "Report Tools - Tranactions - Whole Fund - General Journals - Transaction type" I only have a choice of Purchase, Sale or Neither. EWhat I need is all three together in the one report.
Have I missed something or do I understand such a report is not currently available.

Further to my message above, I am aware that through the Financial Report section I can get a General Ledger Report but this is restricted to the current financial year whereas BGL appears to let you run reports over the life of the asset. ie, the report sample I have been given shows data from 1/7/02 through to 30/6/06.

Hi,
Under Report Tool > Asset Reports you can get a report called the Asset Movement report. This lists the starting and ending balances of the number of units held in each parcel of each share and lists and changes in the ownership of physical assets.
The report contains a column for quantity and cost of opening balance (at start of report period), additions, sales, and closing balance (at end of report period) for each asset. Profit from sales in the period and market value at closing is also shown.
This report can be run for any date range, including over several financial years.

I had already had a look at that report and although it is excellent it lacks the history of Asset Cost Base reductions following the receipt of Capital Returns or Tax Deferred Income.
What I am looking for is the FULL history of the asset. In other words, changes in value of the asset as can be currently found in Financial Reports - General Ledger Transactions but for the period of the life of the asset and not just the current financial year.
Sorry to be a pain but if this cost base reduction data was also included on the Asset Movement Report it would be a true and total history.

Unfortunately there is not a report that contains all of this information in one place at the moment.
We will evaluate this for inclusion in in a future update.
