Does anyone know the VDEP (value of demerged entity) for MIG (Macquarie Infrastructure Group) demerger of SRG (Sydney Roads Group). The distribution was 1 SRG security for every 3 MIG securities -- does this make VDEP = 33.33% ?
Regards,
Ray Brown

I think it was set at $1.15 per SRG unit. Check the MIG or SRG website.

I am also trying to establish the VDEP percentage referred to below. Were any guidelines posted by MySF?

I have been involved in the same situation, although not through my super fund, and hence not generated the transactions through the MySF software.   However, there are several documents that I have retained in relation to MIG to SRG.  You may find these useful. I will attach as separate postings as the files are large for uploading as one.  The one attached here is the ATO Class Ruling 2006/102 in relation to this transaction.

Refer to the ATO class ruling (attached in my previous posting), paragraphs 31 to 33:

31.  Under the demergers, which took place on 1 August 2006, MIG stapled secruity holders received one  SRT unit and one SRL share (an SRG stapled secruity) for every three MIT(I) and MIT(II) unites they owned respectively.

32.  The demerger of SRT by MIT(I) was conducted by way of a capital reduction, effectived by an inspecie distribution of all MIT(I)'s units in SRT to MIG stapled security holders on a one for three basis.  MIT(I) accounted for the demerger by debiting its contributed equity account in the sum of $44,600,247. (or approx $0.018 per MIT(I) unit).

33.  The demerger of SRL by MIT (II) was conducted by way of a capital reduction and a distribution of accumulated surplus profits, effected by an in specie distribution of all of MIT(II)'s shares in SRL to MIG stabpled security holders on a one for three basis.  MIT(II) accounted for the demerger by debiting its contributed equirty account in the sum of $797,778,681 (or approx $0.322 per MIT(II) unit) and its retained earnings account in the sum of $106,562,504 (or approx $0.043 per MIT (II) unit).

Sorry - cannot upload the last file related to this demerger.

If information is also required for the next step - script for script rollover - SRG to Transurban, the specifics may be found in ATO Class Ruling CR 2007/21.
