Fine it can be closed but as the report (in my case 56 failed revaluations ) contains both those shares that are no longer held ( obvious) and those that can not be " revalued to zero" it needs a simple fix

So that these genuine failures can be manually revalued it would be of great assistance if a report could be PRINTED of the failures. Most financial software packages that I have used allow an edit or delete facility and will prompt the user to confirm that the transaction should be edited or deleted. To address this problem, distributions handling will be amended to allow distribution records to be tagged for completion at a later date. The completion process must then be run before year end to ensure that all details relevant to income and taxation are provided.Step 1) Recording a distribution with only the full amount provided. There will be a modification to the distributions screen, which will be to add a checkbox allowing the distribution to be tagged as “details pending”. To retain accuracy in bank reconciliations, the distribution will still require that an amount be specified as received. The distribution will then be processed as normal, typically with the full amount recorded to 4110 – Distributions Received. For example a distributions of $150 on 1 May, without exact details of breakdown, would be recorded as Franked Amount $150, Income Account: 4110 – Distributions Received, Details Pending.http://www.mysf.com.au/images/uploads/1334886285_d1.JPGStep 2) Allocating amounts when details are received. An additional menu item will be added, called “Complete Distribution Details”. This function should be invoked when full details of the distributions received from a particular company are received.Completing distribution details takes three steps:i) Select which asset’s distribution details have been received.ii) Allocate the full amount. At this point the full dollar amount of “details pending” tagged distributions from this asset will be shown, and asked to be allocated across a screen that closely resembles the current distribution screen.iii) Automated amendment. After validation and confirmation the system will proceed to amend the distributions previously entered, based on the amount received as a percentage of the total distribution in each instance.Continuing from Step 1, if another distribution was received for $30 and recorded as details pending; users would need to allocate a total of $180 of income across the various fields, which would then be automatically allocated proportionately across the same fields for the two distributions. This would actually mean that the distributions processed would be reversed and new distributions processed, this time with full details. The screenshot below shows an example where there were no distributions other than the $150 was received, but the administrator has received the details of the distribution of the $150 and can now split is accurately. In such a situation, the process would also adjust the entry made. The year end process would not be allowed to run until there are no more distributions tagged as “details pending”.http://www.mysf.com.au/images/uploads/791569200_d2.JPGWe would like to invite MySF users to comment on this proposal, either by posting a reply in this thread, or by emailing us at info@mysf.com.auRegards,MySF

Reversing a Return of capital

How do I reverse a return of capital? I wish them, and all of MySF users a relaxing holiday season and a prosperous new super year.Regards KJn

Hierarchal asset allocation categories

Would it be possible to create Hierarchal asset allocation categories. You could imagine a hierarchy with Property at the top, followed by Australian property and International property, both of which would contain Listed and Direct property.Similiar hierarchies could exist for fixed interest, equities etc.The reporting facilities, and compliance stuff would be aware of the hierarchy structure as well.RegardsBryan Lovquist

Distributions Reports

HiThe Distributions report (from Financial Reporting) takes alot of paper. Any chance of getting it into a tabulated format (say, with the types of distribution across the top, headings at 90 degrees), for quicker reference?

Changes to the File Names used for Backups

I would like to see a change made to the way backups are carried out. Specifically I see two problems with the current approach:1. A new backup typically will over-write the previous backup2. Regardless of the Fund Name chosen in the Fund Selection screen, the backup file will be named after the original name the fund is given. For example, if we assume the Fund is called the XYZ Fund, when I run backup the backup file name will be XYZ.mysf. However, at times such as End of Year I may want to ensure that, after EOY processing, I can restore back to immediately prior to EOY processing. To achieve this I could do a "Save AS" with Fund Name as "XYZPrior", then run EOY and, perhaps, do a "Save As" calling the new Fund Name "XYZAfter"But when I run with any of these Funds (XYZ, XYZPrior, or XYZAfter), if I run a backup the backup File name created is XYZ.mysf, and it will overwrite the previous XYZ.mysf backup file which may have been created from a different FundThis approach is confusing and can lead to important backups being over-written.As an alternative I would like to suggest that each backup is created with the same name as the current fund name file, plus the date and time (XYZyyyymmddhhmm format).Examples of this approach would be:XYZ200510051005.mysf, XYZPrior200510051030.mysf, and XYZAfter20051012.2311.mysfAnother, perhaps simpler, file name approach would be XYZPrior12Apr05B.mysf where the "B" represents the second backup on that day.Cumbersome I know and may lead to many backup files being kept but this is preferable to important backups being over-written.Sorry for the lengthy entry.Regards,Don

Financial reporting

Please look into reclassifying your P&L and BS into the format recommended by AAS25 and its recent Exposure Draft. This should entail only recalssifying and renaming the P/L as Statement of Changes in Net Assets and the BS as Statement on Net Assets. All the necesary info is there. It would also be great if you could introduce an Income Tax reconciliation between Primas Facie @ 15% and the IT expense in the P/L ( Statement of Changes in Net Assets. The reports will then comply and not have to be restated.Thank you

Import/export of data

Are there any plans for facility to import data to a number of funds ?/ and exporting from a number of funds - (say some basic reports) to database that could be available on the internet?

Date entry

The date when entered has to be precise with 2 numbers per section. I believe that getting something in place for these products will make your product more of a "killer".Also I note your physical asset screens are set up primarily for property and not other items e.g. art. Can you tailor something?
