Macquarie Infrastucture Group (MIG) is divesting some of their interests (toll roads in NSW) by means of a demerger and giving an in-specie distribution to a newly established entity Sydney Roads Groups (SRG). For every 3 shares in MIG, shareholders will get 1 share in SRG at no cost.

Could you please advise how, or how easy/difficult it would be to record this transaction in MySF?

As I see it, it is not like a normal merger/split/takeover, and I can foresee difficulties in formally recording this within MySF and it may be easier to sell MIG before it takes affects.

Regards
Kjn

I certainly wouldnt recommend you sell any shares just because it may be tricky to record in the software.

Remember you can always record journal entries to do an adjustment outside the options you have for demergers, scrip for scrip, sale etc....

Once there is a way forward and the transaction is done we will post a guide on the forum. depending on the complexity there may be advice on the ATO website - this was the case with AMP/HHG and BHP/BSL

Hi,

There was no guide posted on the forum but there will be a guide prepared based on the information provided over the Easter weekend by 'ywilson' on the other thread discussing this event.

The guide will be posted to the thread linked above.

Regards,

MySF
